Kynoch Ammunition was first made in the late 1800s by George Kynoch and during it’s long illustrious history the company has made ammunition for military as well as hunting in locations across the world. English Gunmakers in conjunction with Kynoch developed many of the iconic calibres now enjoyed by big game hunters, particularly specializing in double guns for African game.
In 1994 David Little set up Kynoch Limited to make the modern Kynoch Ammunition which shoots with the same pressures and velocities as the original cordite ammunition, and more importantly to the same point of aim. The range offered by Kynoch is from .300 Nitro Express to .700 Nitro Express and includes calibres such as .375 Holland & Holland, .470 NE, .500 NE and .577 as well as many of the other popular hunting calibres. The ammunition is CIP proofed and extensively tested and that is why Professional Hunters have the confidence to recommend their client have their guns regulated and shoot with Kynoch Ammunition to ensure a safe and successful hunt. Most calibres are available in both soft nosed and solid Woodleigh traditional bullets. To support this range Kynoch also manufacture snap caps, cleaning jags and brushes and the Traditional Silver’s Recoil Pads to fit the big bore guns.
